Skin repair, reduced inflammation, soften lines and crepey areas. Suitable for sensitive skin.
The only copper ten times more precious than silver! Peptides may be a beauty industry obsession, but not all peptides are made equal and their role in skin-firming is complicated. Some peptides don’t help at all and some are still a mystery. However, copper, (or more accurately, GHK-Cu) peptide is a “signalling” tri-peptide as it ‘signals’ new skin cells to promote the synthesis of elastin, collagen, proteoglycan, and glucoglycan, which make skin tight, smooth, and elastic.
It is important to have the right amount in a serum as small doses are significantly less effective. Strong skin is reliant on a supply of healthy stem-cells and these tend to dwindle as we age. Copper peptides can increase the proliferation of keratinocytes (cells found in all epidermal layers) and improve the function of fibroblasts, which is integral in forming connective tissue. These cells improve vital parts of the repair process in damaged and inflamed skin, significantly helping regeneration.
Skin that has become sensitive and easily irritated should become more robust as it strengthens and regains better elasticity. To retain the firmness, it must also have a good supply of thorough hydration. Copper peptide enhances the properties of all glycosaminoglycans in the formulation (the hydrators - eg: hyaluronic acid) and so helps maintain optimum hydration. A plethora of B vitamins… B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9 and E provide significant free-radical scavenging activity and help add density to thinning skin. The polyphenols in the extracts of borage, green tea and cornflower, including EGCG, help maintain the lipid/water balance and provide useful anti-oxidants which are effective in reducing puffiness, irritation and inflammation.
Directions for Use: Apply once or twice a day, to cleansed skin, morning and/or evening using fingertips, in gentle circular, upward movements (neck to forehead). Allow it to be absorbed - 2-5 minutes, before applying another serum, elixir or moisturiser. If applying with other serums, use this after the CoQ-10 with Vitamin A, Vitamin C Hydrating, Multivitamin Skin Rescue and Resveratrol with Rose, and before the Lightening serum. Copper peptide serum must be kept cool to work efficiently. Store at under 10ºC.

I have a few Scents of Man serums, but this is definitely one of my favourites. It's very hydrating, but not too oily (even on my oily skin!). It firms the skin almost instantly, but you notice the biggest change after using it for a few weeks.
This is a very good serum. I love the smell too. I had some dry areas at the side of my nose and little patches on my forehead too, both these have gone. I use the borage hydrosol too and it settles my sensitive skin. My skin really does look and feel better..
