A potent combination to regenerate sun-damaged skin. Suitable for sensitive skin.
CoQ-10 is well known as a powerful antioxidant (and dietary supplement), but it really excels in topical use, partly due to being lipophilic. Where other ant-oxidants need help getting through the waxy surface of the epidermis, this does it smoothly, without irritating. The right concentration is important for it to be effective and combining it with vitamin A (retinol palmitate - a less irritating alternative to retinol), maximises the bioavailability of CoQ-10. Together these protect from UVA and UVB oxidative damage and mitigate the deterioration of glutamine in the skin. CoQ-10 has increased elastin and collagen (type 1 and IV) production in in-vitro and in-vivo trials. We include niacinamide, to help it restore skin-damage, dampen inflammation and stimulate fibroblast proliferation and renewal.
The moisturising effect is comprehensively covered by hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate, botanical extracts, panthenol and soy lecithin. These provide thorough skin-moisturisation, whilst squalane and vitamin E help optimise the skin’s barrier lipids. Well hydrated skin should see slower degradation of collagen and prevent the clumps of sticky, dead cells forming on the surface. This then allows the effective ingredients to get in to where they need to be. Reversing damage takes time, but a smoother texture should be noticeable after a few days. As depleted stores are restored, skin feels thicker and is better able to repair. Can cause sun sensitivity.
Directions for Use:
Use a pea-sized amount to fingertips and apply in circular, upward movements (neck to forehead) to cleansed skin. Allow it to be absorbed for five minutes before using another serum, elixir or moisturiser. If using other serums, apply this first (the lipophilic nature of CoQ-10 primes the skin.) If using this and the Copper Peptide serum, oily skin may respond better to using this second; for dry skin, apply this first. To counter increased sun sensitivity, use a broad-spectrum sun cream.
