Rose Absolute and Seaweed Moisturiser        *cucurmin added from autumn 2021

A luxurious moisturising cream, that leaves skin smooth and plumped without oiliness. Formulated to improve skin with depleted firmness and elasticity. Naturally scented with a beautiful Damask Rose absolute oil.

One pot contains all 10 essential skin care ingredients:

Allantoin, Vitamin A, Coenzyme CoQ-10, Hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide, L-Glutamide, Syn-Coll Peptides, Sodium hyaluronate, Urea, Zinc.

Using a hydrosol base, instead of plain water, to impart important botanical properties which are enhanced with carefully balanced, active ingredients.

These work in two ways:

Firstly, to strengthen skin and reduce inflammation, so skin can work optimally.

Then, to address sun-damage: fade uneven pigmentation, help restore collagen and elastin and retain optimum hydration.

Vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate), The ester of retinol, the skin turns this into Retinoic Acid, necessary for skin repair. This is a powerful antioxidant which helps stimulate new skin cell growth and improves UV damaged skin. Urea assists in helping it to improve areas of itchy, scaly skin and kojic acid helps it to fade melasma and hyper-pigmentation. It also helps to normalise the skin’s sebum production.

Niacinamide (B3) An often over-looked skin vitamin; this works longer-term to strengthen the skin, reduce enlarged pores and fade hyper-pigmentation.

Vitamin E  Helps in skin barrier repair and provides antioxidants..

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and Sodium Hyaluronate (SH): Necessary to achieve well-hydrated skin. Produced naturally in skin, but it reduces markedly with age. The effects of naturally extracted HA, (from algae), are optimised by adding smaller molecule HA and SH. This combination allows hydration on the skin surface, but importantly, deeper down in the skin layers too. Without combining these, HA can actually pull water from the skin, in dry weather. When skin is well-hydrated, it is much easier to reduce inflammation and repair damage.

Syn-Coll Peptides: A precious peptide (actually a tripeptide!) made up of amino acids, essential in restoring collagen in skin. Studies show that 1-2% in a product is the optimum amount - we use 2%.

C0Q-10Ubiquinone - one of the most significant lipid antioxidants, naturally produced by the body, often depleted by 30 and very low in people over fifty or after illness.. It regenerates cells and prevents the generation of free-radicals. It can significantly help restore collagen and elastin.

Panthenol (B5): A humectant, helping to keep skin plumped and hydrated

Rose HydrosolRehydrates dry skin and balances sebum production; helpful for acne and dry skin. Reduces UV damage and hyperpigmentation.

Algae Hydrosol: Very high in natural hyaluronic acid, for moisturising skin. Contains natural UV protection.

Rose Absolute oil: This is remarkably good at healing scars - including those left by acne, hyper-pigmentation and sun damage.

Frankincense oleoresin: This contains Boswellic acid (the essential oil does not), excellent for photo-aged skin and calms inflammation. Also useful for skin prone to acne.

Aloe Vera: A good moisturiser and skin-soother, used in combination, it can help fight collagenase, which destroys collagen.

Plant Keratin: This helps sooth skin and improve hydration. A good alternative to animal keratin.

Dihydrocurcumin: A free-radical scavenger which has improved collagen deposition and increased fibroblast production. New to this formulation, but earns its place.

Green Tea Extract: A powerful antioxidant, thanks to the epigallocatechingallate (EGCG, especially good for UV damaged skin. A natural source of vitamin: B, C and E, it helps prevent free radical damage, protects and revitalises skin and has antibacterial and antioxidant properties.

Calendula Extract: Very soothing and moisturising due to the high level of carotenoids; especially good for sensitive skin.

Chamomile Extract: Due to its high levels of a-bisbolol, a sesquiterpene, this is very soothing and anti-inflammatory; good for acne and scaly patches.

Cornflower Extract: High in flavonoids and sesquiterpenes, this keeps the skin supple. High in polyphenols which balance sebum production. A good antioxidant.

Evening Primrose Extract: Especially good at calming any redness and skin irritation.

For very oily skin, or skin prone to ‘break-out’ when in contact with butters and oils, our Rose Gallica moisturiser is formulated with little oil, for this type of skin.
