Rose Absolute and Seaweed Moisturiser

We know this is a favourite and we are grateful to loyal customers who keep returning (we know you have lots of other options…). In response, we have kept the price the same for two years, despite the dizzying increases to most of the ingredients. We will continue to hold the price for as long as possible.

 * Due to new academic research and a number of skin trials, we now add CoQ-10 at 2% . This appears to be most effective, rather than the previous 0.8%

A luxurious moisturising cream, that immediately leaves skin smooth and plumped, without an oily feel. We have packed everything into this one! It is formulated to improve skin with depleted firmness and elasticity; naturally scented with a beautiful Damask Rose absolute oil.

One pot contains all 10 essential skin care ingredients:

Allantoin, Vitamin A, Coenzyme CoQ-10, Hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide, L-Glutamide, Copper Peptides, Sodium hyaluronate, Urea, Curcumin.

Using three hydrosols as a base, instead of plain water, the botanical properties enhance the effect of the balanced, active ingredients.

This is primarily designed to strengthen skin, to enable it to work at its optimum. For this to happen, water and lipid hydration need to be plentiful (it isn’t enough to ‘drink plenty of water’)and this must be on the surface and deeper down too. Visible sun damage is addressed and the melanin-making ‘message’ is interrupted to prevent dark patches continuing to form.

Small particles phytonutrients are used, when they need to penetrate the stratum corneum  to work effectively. Mature skin, especially that undergoing the vagaries of menopausal symptoms, needs an increased combination of depleted vitamins and minerals,  to help revive collagen and elastin. This is addressed using powerful antioxidants to slow the degradation and ingredients able to bolster stores and fascilitate better transmission within the skin.

Vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate), This is a gentler alternative to retinol and causes less irritation. It is the skin itself that turns it into Retinoic Acid which is necessary for skin repair. This can really boost new skin cell growth and improve UV damage. It works well with other ingredients to improve scaly areas and help to normalise sebum production.

Copper Peptides: A beautiful bright blue, this is a very precious peptide. It has produced the most convincing results, when tested against other peptides (there are many peptides and the are not all useful). It is made up of amino acids, essential in restoring collagen. Studies show that 1-2% in a product is the optimum amount and it is often used in tiny amount due to its price - it is here at 2%.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and Sodium Hyaluronate (SH): Necessary to achieve well-hydrated skin and produced naturally in skin. HA reduces markedly as we age, especially during and after menopause. The effects of naturally extracted HA, (from algae) helps the skin surface look fresher and plumped whilst the smaller molecule HA and its salt, sodium hyaluronate, can restore reserves. If large molecule hyaluronic acid alone is applied, hydration can actually be pulled from the skin in dry conditions. When skin is well-hydrated, the skin repair mechanism can work optimally.

C0Q-10Ubiquinone - one of the most significant lipid antioxidants, again, this is naturally produced by the body, but often depleted by 30 and very low in people over fifty and after a period of illness. It regenerates cells and prevents them generating free-radicals and can significantly help restore collagen and elastin.

Niacinamide (B3) An often over-looked skin vitamin; this works longer-term to strengthen the skin, reduce enlarged pores and fade hyper-pigmentation. It often enhances the performance of other phytonutrients.

Dihydrocurcumin: A free-radical scavenger which has improved collagen deposition and increased fibroblast production. New to this formulation, but earns its place.

Panthenol (B5): A humectant, helping to keep skin plumped and hydrated

Rose HydrosolRehydrates dry skin and balances sebum production; helpful for acne and dry skin. Reduces UV damage and hyperpigmentation.

Algae Hydrosol: Very high in natural hyaluronic acid, for moisturising skin. Contains natural UV protection.

Rose Absolute oil: This is remarkably good at healing scars - including those left by acne, hyper-pigmentation and sun damage.

Frankincense oleoresin: This contains Boswellic acid (the essential oil does not), excellent for photo-aged skin and calms inflammation. Also useful for skin prone to acne.

Aloe Vera: A good moisturiser and skin-soother, used in combination, it can help fight collagenase.

Soy Lecithin: This is very soothing and improves hydration. A good alternative to animal keratin.

Green Tea Extract: A powerful antioxidant, thanks to the epigallocatechingallate (EGCG), especially good for UV damaged skin. A natural source of vitamins: B, C and E, it helps prevent free radical damage, protects and revitalises skin and has antibacterial and antioxidant properties.

Calendula Extract: Both soothing and moisturising due to the high level of carotenoids; especially good for sensitive skin.

Chamomile Extract: With a good supply of a-bisbolol, a sesquiterpene, this is anti-inflammatory and can help acne and scaly patches.

Cornflower Extract: High in flavonoids and sesquiterpenes which keep the skin supple and the polyphenols help balance sebum production.

Evening Primrose Extract: Especially good at calming any redness and skin irritation.

Vitamin E:  Helps in skin barrier repair.
