Ingredients & Allergens

At Scents of Man, we believe that informed customers make confident choices. We are committed to providing clear information about the ingredients used in our perfumes, skincare and haircare products.
Our Ingredients
Our products are carefully formulated using a combination of high-quality natural ingredients and selected aroma molecules where they enhance the beauty, stability or performance of the finished product.
Many of our perfumes contain a high proportion of natural botanical materials, including essential oils, absolutes, resins and tinctures. Our skincare and haircare products are formulated with carefully chosen active ingredients, hydrosols, botanical extracts and skin-conditioning ingredients selected for their quality and suitability.
Wherever possible, we manufacture our own botanical hydrosols using traditional steam distillation, allowing us to incorporate freshly distilled floral waters into many of our formulations.
Full Ingredient Lists (INCI)
Every cosmetic product is labelled with its International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) declaration, as required by cosmetic legislation.
Ingredients are listed in descending order of concentration at the time of manufacture, with fragrance components identified in accordance with current regulatory requirements.
Fragrance Allergens
Many flowers, herbs, spices, woods and citrus fruits naturally contain aromatic compounds that are recognised under cosmetic legislation as fragrance allergens.
Examples include:
Linalool
Limonene
Geraniol
Citral
Citronellol
Eugenol
Farnesol
Benzyl Alcohol
Benzyl Benzoate
Benzyl Salicylate
Coumarin
These names often appear unfamiliar, but they are naturally present in many essential oils. For example, lavender naturally contains linalool, citrus oils contain limonene, and rose oil contains citronellol and geraniol.
Their presence on a product label does not necessarily mean they have been added separately; in many cases they are naturally occurring constituents of the botanical ingredients themselves.
Product Safety
All of our cosmetic products undergo the appropriate cosmetic safety assessment before being placed on the market.
Our perfumes are formulated in accordance with the current standards of the EEC and comply with the International Fragrance Association (IFRA), helping to ensure that fragrance ingredients are used within recognised safety limits.
Sensitivity
Although cosmetic ingredients are considered safe for their intended use, every individual is different.
If you have particularly sensitive skin, known fragrance allergies or a history of allergic reactions, we recommend carrying out a small patch test before first use.
If irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately and seek medical advice if symptoms persist.
Nut Allergies and Botanical Ingredients
Some products contain ingredients derived from nuts, seeds or other botanical sources. Individual product descriptions and ingredient declarations should always be checked before purchase if you have known allergies.
