Vitamin A Serum - A silky, light serum. Just a small amount is needed to see results- see video demonstration.
Specifically formulated for prematurely aged skin, uneven texture and sun-damage, it utilises retinyl palmitate, the pre-cursor to retinoic acid to begin the repair process. This works with hyaluronic acid and concentrated botanical extracts to restore dehydrated skin and deliver robust, lasting results. Skin becomes noticeably smoother and more malleable and scaly patches diminish.
Healthy skin cell growth is facilitated by:
Restoring ceramides to strengthen the skin's protective barrier.
Stimulating collagen and elastin production and repair.
Decreasing trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL).
Any significant improvement of existing UV damage takes longer - retinyl palmitate (vitamin A), niacinamide (B3) and peptides have an accumulative effect, gradually improving skin condition over four to sixteen weeks.
The serum starts work immediately, reviving tired and dehydrated skin. It works by improving uneven texture and strengthening the skin’s protective barrier. The tripeptides fuel the repair mechanism, slowing the depletion of elastin and collagen.
Hyaluronic acid is combined with the smaller molecules in sodium hyaluronate, to allow hydration to reach the deeper skin layers and not just superficially. With hyaluronic acid alone, moisture can be suspended on the surface and even pull moisture from the skin, whereas together they work with the skin's hyaluronic acid receptors(CD44) to allow the skin to take the added moisture where it is needed. all.
The Night Serum contains Vitamin C and Ferulic acid which work better at night time, when the skin’s repair mechanism can best utilise these. This provides antioxidant protection and brightens the complexion. L-Glutamine, CoQ-10 (Ubiquinone) and Syn-coll help restore lost volume and elasticity.
Directions: Apply after hydrosol cleansing (or after showering). For optimum results, the skin should be slightly damp. Put a few drops on fingertips and work into skin, avoiding eyes. Allow skin to absorb the serum for about two minutes, then apply a good moisturiser, which will prevent evaporation and so keep the serum on the skin for longer.
Vitamin A: A powerful antioxidant used to refine skin texture, encourage new skin cell growth and improve sun damage.
Syn-coll: A tripeptide which mimics the skin’s repair mechanism to restore lost elastin and collagen.
Kojic acid: A naturally derived anti-microbial ingredient which improves dark areas of melasma and other sun damage.
What is in it .....and What do they do?
The Essential Repairers: The core ingredients of the Day Serum.
Hyaluronic acid and Sodium hyaluronate - An excellent humectant, but the large molecules need help to penetrate deep enough to make a real difference. We use small molecule hyaluronic acid and even smaller sodium hyaluronate. These are drawn to one another and can be absorbed deeper into the skin. Without the sodium hyaluronate, the precious moisture will simply sit on top on the skin and can even draw moisture from it.
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): Soothes, whilst increasing depleted ceramides. This vitamin helps to inhibit melanosome transfer from melanocytes to keratinocytes to help repair UV damage. Large pores can also be reduced..
Urea: Gently softens and exfoliates, encouraging new skin cell turnover. This helps the absorption of vitamin A and hyaluronic acid. It reduces itching from dry skin conditions and has been helpful in wound healing, acne, seborrheic dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis.
The Botanical Repairers: Botanical extracts that boost the benefits.
Cornflower: High in flavonoids and sesquiterpenes for supple skin, with anti-bacterial properties.
Evening Primrose: One of the best extracts for inflammation and calming redness.
Honeysuckle: An antioxidant 200 times greater than vitamin E (in-vitro studies) provided by the high epilgallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and apigenin content. These also help restore collagen.
St John’s Wort: Xanthones and catechin tannins help reduce UV damage, with anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.
Rose hydrosol - Hydrates and balances sebum production, whilst fading hyper-pigmentation. Containing a myriad of constituents which helps both acne and dry skin.
Colloidal oats & aloe vera: These are both soothing and calm redness.
Backup Restoration: Oils and resins used for skin conditioning.
Raspberry seed oil: Providing Excellent levels of antioxidants, pro-vitamin A and vitamin E - containing over 50% omega-6.
Rose absolute oil: A beautiful, precious oil which enhances the effect of rose hydrosol.
Frankincense oleoresin: This contains Boswellic acid, used to reduce inflamed skin and photo-damage. It has also demonstrated effectiveness, in double blind trials, in improving lines and elasticity.
